Fiber wine packaging: matching the shell to the shipping route
Wine packaging is really three different problems wearing one label: retail presentation in a gift box, case movement on a pallet, and single-bottle parcel shipping. Fiber answers all three, but not with the same shell, and the route you ship decides which one you need.
- Gift and cellar packs - a wet-pressed tray with a smooth face and a formed neck recess, often with a second layer for a corkscrew, a stopper or tasting notes.
- Case trays - up-and-down support plates for six or twelve bottles, stacking on the shoulder rather than the neck, so a full case can be palletised without load on the closures.
- Parcel shippers - a top-and-bottom cap set built to a specific drop height, with the bottle suspended in a fiber web rather than resting on a flat surface.
Two construction details do most of the work: the bottle is carried on its shoulder and base rather than its side, and the neck sits in a clearance pocket so the closure takes no load. Both are decided at the tool, which is why we ask for the bottle drawing and the shipping route before quoting.

Q: Is molded fiber packaging safe for direct food contact?
A: Yes. Our food-grade molded fiber trays are produced from virgin plant fiber and comply with food-contact requirements. Please tell us your destination market when requesting a quotation, and we will confirm the applicable compliance documents (for example FDA or EU 1935/2004).
Q: Are your molded fiber food trays PFAS-free?
A: Yes. We offer PFAS-free, plastic-free molded fiber trays with water and oil resistance achieved through fiber selection and forming process, rather than fluorochemical coatings.
Q: Can you produce trays in custom shapes and compartment layouts?
A: Yes. We custom-mold trays to your product dimensions and required compartment layout, based on your 3D drawing or physical sample. Samples are provided for approval before mass production.
