"The Paper Laborers' Union's choice to end the group understandings in the center of the agreement time frame is deplorable. We had trusted that compensation increments and efficiency upgrades could have been examined usefully without ending the understandings. Our point is to discover commonly valuable arrangements without making superfluous vulnerability," says Jyrki Hollmén, Vice President, Labor Markets at UPM.

UPM's undertakings and the Paper Laborers' Union have been haggling for as far back as two years of the agreement time frame. Up until now, the exchanges have zeroed in on the gatherings' goals. The business climate has changed fundamentally since the arrangements were marked in 2022. UPM underlines the significance of characterizing compensation increments comparable to commonly concurred efficiency upgrades.

"UPM needs to remunerate great execution. Seriousness is critical to the eventual fate of UPM's undertakings, and its proceeded with fortifying is in everybody's advantage," Hollmén proceeds.

Exchanges with the Paper Laborers' Union will proceed as quickly as time permits. The end of the group understandings doesn't imply that the exchanges have finished.

Continuous political strikes in Finland, for instance at the ports, are not identified with the exchange cycle between UPM and the Paper Laborers' Union. The strikes are unfortunate, and UPM endures because of their coincidental impacts.
