Where fiber beats foam inside an electronics carton

Electronics packaging is judged by what happens in the last two metres - the drop from a parcel conveyor onto a concrete floor - and by what the unboxing looks like on a social feed. Foam wins the first test on cost and loses the second on everything else.

A moulded fiber insert tuned to the product does three things a flat foam pad cannot:

• Loads the product where it is strong. The cavity is drawn around the structural faces, so the drop force enters at the corners and the chassis edge rather than at the screen or the rear panel.
• Keeps accessories where they belong. Cable, adapter and manual get their own moulded pockets instead of a plastic bag tumbling against the device.
• Holds the brand. A pressed wall takes print and a moulded-in logo, so the first thing a customer sees after the carton opens is on-brand rather than a grey foam block.

Sizing runs from thin-wall drawers for earbuds and dongles to thick double-layer trays for laptops, routers and speakers. Fiber also brings a small humidity buffer into a closed case, and removes the plastic bag-and-foam assembly from your packing line.
