The development history and existing problems of paper tray packaging

Environmentally friendly paper tray is a three-dimensional paper material formed by molding. Because it uses secondary fibers such as waste paper as raw materials, it has good environmental friendly characteristics. With the in-depth research of paper tray product design methods and the progress of production technology , its application range is getting wider and wider, and it is developing in the direction of developing heavy-duty packaging products. At present, a large-scale pulp molding logistics tray has been developed, which has opened up an effective way to replace wood packaging with paper. In order to improve the bearing capacity of the pulp molding logistics tray, the structure and configuration of the tray are becoming more and more complex. Therefore, the configuration design of the paper tray and the analysis of the bearing capacity are more necessary and urgent.

At present, in the development and research of paper-supported heavy-duty logistics pallets, the following two issues are particularly worthy of attention:

①The structural configuration design of the pulp molding tray needs to be scientifically optimized

②In the aspect of finite element analysis and research of structural strength, it is limited to the research of typical unit structure of pallets, and there is a lack of performance analysis for the overall structure of pallets. In view of this, this paper adopts CAD/CAE technology to establish the structural innovation configuration of large-scale pulp molding logistics tray, and achieves the purpose of developing large-scale heavy-duty packaging products with optimized structure and excellent mechanical properties. On this basis, the ABAQUS finite element analysis software is used to calculate the strength of the pallet outrigger structure, so as to analyze and evaluate the performance and bearing capacity of the paper pallet.

Paper tray technology and its initial products came out in Denmark, and automated assembly line production began in the 1960s. At present, France, Canada, Japan, and the United States have successively developed and promoted this technology, and have a considerable production scale. Environmentally friendly paper tray products were initially used in large quantities for the packaging of eggs, beer bottles and fruits. With the widespread use of plastic packaging in daily production and life, serious "white pollution" has been caused. Too high or not completely solve the pollution problem, the use is limited, these factors have accelerated the development of the paper tray packaging industry. my country's paper tray industry started late, with a history of only more than 20 years, but it has developed rapidly. There are less than 100 manufacturers engaged in the research and development of paper tray technology and product production. It has grown to more than 800 at present; the packaged items have developed from simple eggs, fruits, beer bottles and other low-end products to industrial instruments, electronic components, etc. Industrial products such as devices and household appliances; from the past mainly used for export product packaging to both export and domestic sales; production equipment from simple introduction to introduction and development; the structure of environmentally friendly paper support products has also changed from a small single function in the past to a large multi-function direction development.

Although my country's paper tray industry has developed rapidly in recent years, there are still many problems, which are mainly reflected in the following aspects:

(1) The paper support material is affected by various factors (such as: the type of waste paper, the pressure during molding, the moisture content after the finished product, etc.) during the processing of environmentally friendly paper support products and after the finished product, and various characteristic parameters of its own (such as The elastic modulus, Poisson's ratio, etc.) are not fixed, and the product performance is unstable, which brings great difficulties to the experiment.

(2) At present, there is no unified method and performance evaluation standard for paper support testing in China, which leads to differences in test results and evaluations. Although the paper tray industry has done a lot of work in standardization, it still cannot meet the requirements of the rapid development of the industry, and the specific measures of the relevant departments have not been introduced, which affects the implementation of the standard. At the same time, there are many items that need to be tested for environmentally friendly paper support products. So far, no testing department can test all of them, which is not conducive to the implementation of the standard. In addition, the current high testing cost of environmentally friendly paper support products, many companies are reluctant to submit for inspection, resulting in product quality cannot be guaranteed.

(3) In the actual design, there is no certain basis and reference, and most designs are designed based on the experience of designers.
