Foldable double-layer inserts that ship flat
Most protective inserts are shipped assembled, which means you pay freight on air. A foldable insert is pressed flat, hinged in the tool, and folded into its final three-dimensional form at your packing station.
This double-layer insert does two jobs at once: the lower layer carries the product, the upper layer closes over it, and the two are joined at a moulded hinge so they cannot be mismatched on the line.
- Flat-shipped - nested stacks replace boxes of assembled trays, cutting inbound freight and warehouse space.
- Hinged upper layer that acts as a lid, a retention plate and an anti-rattle press in one part.
- Cavity pair per unit - product below, accessories or cable above, kept apart by fiber instead of a foam pad.
- Semi-closed geometry that adds rigidity to the outer carton, so the case wall can sometimes be downgraded.
Fold lines are moulded, not scored, so the hinge survives a full packing shift without fraying. Because the insert is a single fiber part, it also removes the assembly step of pairing a tray with a separate cushion.

A: Yes. Our food-grade molded fiber trays are produced from virgin plant fiber and comply with food-contact requirements. Please tell us your destination market when requesting a quotation, and we will confirm the applicable compliance documents (for example FDA or EU 1935/2004).
Q: Are your molded fiber food trays PFAS-free?
A: Yes. We offer PFAS-free, plastic-free molded fiber trays with water and oil resistance achieved through fiber selection and forming process, rather than fluorochemical coatings.
Q: Can you produce trays in custom shapes and compartment layouts?
A: Yes. We custom-mold trays to your product dimensions and required compartment layout, based on your 3D drawing or physical sample. Samples are provided for approval before mass production.
